Hello! You may remember that last year I joined several sewing bloggers for the Paris Sew Social. Well, we had so much fun that we repeated it again this year and this time it was in London. We had an amazing weekend walking around London, visiting a few fabric shops along the way. It was lovely to meet some bloggers who joined us for the first time this year too. I really hope this will become a yearly tradition.
Our lovely sponsors were very generous and we received some fantastic fabric and patterns. This week several of us are sharing things we’ve made with those items. At the bottom of this post you’ll find an amazing giveaway to enter, for a chance to win some of those things for yourself. Are you feeling lucky?
For today’s outfit I used one of the patterns from our lovely sponsors, the lovely B*inspired magazine by Poppy (edition 6). This magazine is similar to Ottobre, packing a lot of patterns in while giving lots of inspiration with beautiful photos of the clothes you could make.
Willow needed to wear a superhero themed outfit for a playgroup we go to, and I’d sorted out Willow’s Wonder Woman onesie (say that 10 times fast) but needed shorts to go with it. Fortunately, pattern 1606 came to the rescue. They are simple shorts with an elastic wasitband and front pockets.
I made the smallest size the fit is perfect. As a guide, she is almost 11 months but quite small and still in size 6-9 months clothes.
I decided to go with a more inspired by look instead of exactly copying the Wonder Woman costume. I found some lovely lightweight chambray with white stars on in Fabric Land (behold the wonder of their website!) and sewed up these shorts in an evening.
At the last minute I decided Willow really needed a crown to finish off the ensemble, using a favourite Cotton + Steel print and some gold bias binding.
I loved the variety of patterns and age range covered in the magazine, and you have the chance to win a copy of this magazine and a lot more.
OK, did you make it through all the photos? Now it is time for the giveaway.

That is the most adorable little outfit! I so need Cotton & Steels stripe! It’s just gorgeous!
You do! I didn’t get much but enough for a couple more accessories. I love the black colourway too.
The whole outfit is just adorable. I’m impressed you managed to find anything on the fabric land website. I look at it occasionally, get a headache, and never actually manage to buy anything! The shop in Southampton is much more manageable…although a treat I reserve for the rare occasions I don’t have any children with me!
Thanks Victoria! I did pop into the shop, although I only had one child with me and she was stuck in pushchair 🙂 I realised after I posted that the website has actually improved, not sure if you saw the crazy version they used to have.
I haven’t seen the new website, I must have a look. The old one was just so bonkers I haven’t looked at for a while! I’m going to try and go in to the shop today and look for…leotard material. I have a feeling that trying to make a leotard might result in lots of swearing on my part, but I know my girls would love it!
Such a cutie pie! I love her superhero outfit — and the crown makes it!! Love. <3
Thanks Emi! I love her in the crown, lots more crowns to follow I think 🙂
Willow’s Wonder Woman outfit is wonderful (that would be fun to repeat ten times also haha). Seriously, she rocks it! Love seeing her walking around with a walker 🙂 It is such a cute age, isn’t it 🙂 Sounds both our girls are pretty similar in size.
So stinking cute.. I feel like you just had that baby and look how big! Crazy.
